designing a branding and social media campaign for an at-home breast cancer screening device.

problem
more than 16% of women face breast cancer in their lifetime, making detection an essential. but everything in the breast examination market is clinical, inaccessible, or simply — unsexy. medical procedures can be intrusive, intimidating, and inconvenient, whereas "wellness routines" can be inaccurate and even infantilizing. breast examination was missing something that was at once convenient and empowering — something to be used on the go or at home.
solution
mirabelle is a new breast-health screening device, shaped by feedback from a committee of women committed to changing the future of breast cancer. this solution is a smooth, simple mold made from soft nitrile, designed to feel intuitive and empowering. its feminine colors and low-tech approach keep the device approachable, while its reusable and non-allergenic materials ensure comfort for every user.
with a million dollars in funding from the state of connecticut and other sponsors, mirabelle is on its way to transforming breast-health awareness, and i knew that the branding and social media needed to reflect that ambition. i wanted to create an identity that felt natural, feminine, and elegant — something inviting, with a low barrier to understanding or approaching the device. every visual choice worked toward making mirabelle feel accessible and desirable, while carrying the ambition of a medical device backed by science.
with my team at DAY, we worked on a brand refresh, a comprehensive social media campaign including short-form video and static content, and a collabs and events schedule.
our new custom wordmark and font system focused on round shapes, creating a soft, approachable vibe. at the same time, we refined colors for a balance between maturity and vibrance, inspired by fruits — mirabelle is the word for "plum" in french. generous negative space became a major element of the visual system, making the design understated and approachable.
now, i am managing a website refresh and creating a slide deck design as we see mirabelle into the finals stages of various innovation and business competitions across america.
